It could be vaginal atrophy (vaginal dryness) you could try vaginal moisturisers like Replens or Yes which you can buy over the counter or get on prescription. Its a matter of trial and error on what suits you. If nothing helps you may need Vagifem. Look up vaginal atrophy to read up on it. Take care.

thank you for your kind messages. bladder is ok last two days. dr thinks as i have anxiety and depression it may be nervous system related when it comes and goes. yesterdays problem was the runs. i have had this gastric upset on and off too. they gave me anti depressant which has made things worse. just dont know which way to turn.

Really pleased your bladder has been OK but sorry you have other problems. I suffer from health anxiety and get anything from tummy/bowel problems, headaches, eye problems etc. I am at present struggling with my ears/hearing which has been diagnosed as hypercusis. I thought have a diagnosis would be helpful but it was not to be, worry and anxiety apparently makes the problem worse, I have got to give it three months of not worrying or getting anxious and it should improve - the thing is I dont know how to not worry.

Anxiety certainly causes a lot of problems.

Take care of yourself and if you find out how not to worry and get anxious then please tell me.

      hi,

I dont have ibs, just a sensitive tummy which causes me to to have the runs if I get stressed. I did have medication for anxiety but its didnt help so I stopped taking it.

      Take care if yourself.

you are fortunate you managed not to use anxiety meds i think theyre making me worse. im having a difficult time with nausea too but im sure it was anti dep trial which caused it. feeling pretty awful hoping it will pass given time. thanks for input

I am sorry you are feeling so awful.

I did take anxiety medication for about 10 days but it didnt help and I felt sort of spaced out while taking it, the doctor did say I might feel worse before I felt better but because I didnt believe it was helping me I decided to stop taking it.

I hope you will soon be feeling better. Take care of yourself.

yes i think youre right. i have asked dr if i can stop, trial of anti depressant as its really upset my bowel and stomach. although it was only a short trial i am getting all the side effects of coming off, hopefully wont last too long as i already have anxiety.

If it's definitely your bladder that's bothering you, get rechecked for a UTI. Dipsticks are notorious for being wrong and even standard cultures aren't usually sensitive enough. If you can have your doctor send a specimen to a specialty lab, do it. If there's no infection, see a urogynecologist to be checked for interstitial cystitis (I have this). It's a chronic bladder issue that can feel like a UTI and can cause pelvic pain. Try drinking plenty of fluids and follow a low acid diet. If you're bladder is irritated for any reason, avoid acidic foods/beverages (no cranberry juice!!!) and try AZO or some other OTC bladder pain reliever.

thats great informative ideas thank you. this is sporadic and i could wake with it one day and then it goes for a while. i think it may be related to my ibs. i will ask my dr about urogynaecologist, she hasnt mentioned that to me, only said urinary specialist who said maybe its interstitial, but it goes away, so nothing done yet. i am in uk and im on warfarin so i think i can only take paracetamol for painkiller. i avoid many foods, most of which are not allowed on warfarin anyway like grapefruit, cranberry etc. and drink only water. i have anxiety badly and gp thinks this could be causing it.
