Usually cysts are pockets of fluid. They might need to biopsy the cyst but sometimes the specialist can look at the image and tell if it's cancerous or not. Keep in mind, they stated cyst and not tumor, I would think it's just a pocket of fluid and nothing more. They could probably perform an ERCP to remove it if it's causing symptoms. Sometimes they don't do anything if it's not causing symptoms. I get cysts all the times on my kidneys but they burst and cause horrible pain. Each organ is different. I have CP from being born with two pancreatic ducts and I am scheduled to have my pancreas/spleen removed tomorrow. I don't know what symptoms you're experiencing but I would look for a pancreas specialist if you don't already have one.

thank you shortie, i agree you are a blessing. I only recently received the information from an ultrasound and have a CT Scan scheduled. I will look for a specialist and read your post when I vet scared.! I hope you feel better after your operation I will think about you today and send good thoughts your way. I have a cyst on my lower back that hurts right before it bursts and grows back, I cant imagine that pain on your kidney.

thank you so much for your response

      Hi Brenda,

I am pretty new here (2 hours) but I have been diagnosed with 6 pancreatic cysts (IPMN) and I was wondering how are you going?

I had CT, MRI , MRCP , 2 MDT meetings and now I was told EUS/FNA within the next 2 - 6 weeks. Zero concerns atm from the docs although they keep throwing the cancer word every now and then. (Hmm I think that can be worrying for some 😃 ) .. Blood tests were excellent and mrcp showed no nodules or dilation of the duct. The next scan will give us a clear sign if it is indeed IPMN or pseudo (very low chance that it is) and of course try to count if there is any malignacy risks.

I know it has been 1 year but I would love to hear your story

      Mario
