Is an Avulsion a fracture?

Hi, after a bike accident i have an uktrasound and was told i have a torn tendon my shoulder. after an MRI it then turned out to be all tendons and soft tissue are fine apart from mild tendinitus in my scalpular but i have a small avulsion on the too of my humerus, or as the doctor said a very small chip / fragment still attached to the bone but sticking up.

is this avulsion fragment/chip still classed as a fracture even though its still connected?
