HI all,
I know this post is a couple of years old, but I haven't found anything similar on anywhere else...
I'm really worried because I got diagnosed 9 months ago and have been on antibiotics for 4 months not but am still showing symptoms.
Like many people here I was showing symptoms a couple of times a month every time I was due my period, so I went on anti biotics.
However even with the medication I'm still showing signs and beginning to worry even more! (Which I know is even worse for the condition)
I'm so panicked right now because what do
I do when the drugs don't work?
Has anyone else experienced this and can help me? I know that panicking will only make things worse. But I don't know how else to react when the 'drugs that help' don't work!

I have outbreaks pretty often I haven't counted the days tho kind of depressing I think I will start tho. I read something about acv and garlic daily for suppression. I want to try it maybe you should too. I have yet to figure out my triggers and I've had this a few years now.

I tried it started 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure if it's working yet tho. Garlic will make u stink so I'm afraid to go every day with it. I read add parsley to it and plain yogurt reduces the smell. I will keep you posted. I'm looking into natural oils also. I been on Amazon going crazy need to find something that works

Same here. Had herpes for almost 15 years. I don't take meds bc I take hypertension meds. My scars are on my inner thighs. They always leave scars. DO you know anything that will clear it up I have dark skin.

I'm new to this site and I wanted to know: for those who had the initial outbreak and didn't have anymore for awhile...what kinds of symptoms do/did you experience from reocurring outbreaks? What was that like or how can you tell you're having an outbreak, especially if it's mild?

I never really had a out break had a fever and was sick then my vaginal lips felt tingly and raw dr at urgent care said yeast infection a month later found a bump looked like a ingrown hair asked dr if it was herpes she said no but I insisted she swab it. She did and it's wasn't this was urgent care. I still wasn't satisfied cause I was getting that friction/chaffing feeling so when I was at my ob I asked her to look she saw nothing but asked did I want the blood test. Few days later she called me said I'd been exposed to it some time ago I had anti bodies built. I never counted my outbreaks time because I don't really know since I don't get bumps that look like the pictures to me anyway. I got ingrown hairs sometimes but I've always gotten them even before herpes. So honestly when I feel tingly or chaffy is when I think I have one. I recently start getting one bump on my inner thigh stays about a weak doesn't itch or hurt maybe that is it but it comes around the time of the tingle just noticed it last month.

Hi There,
Im 24 and I got diagnosed 2 years ago and believe me I understand the feeling of being down. It is frustrating and you feel different and you just wish you could be like everyone else and what if I hadn't had sex that night and god why do I keep on having outbreaks when I'm trying to be normal. I felt a lot better when I kind of accepted it and just took on the approach of you know what I just got to get on with it. Which took some time I can tell you but is such a relief when you have that realisation.
I recommend Lysine. It is a vitamin that I take with breakfast everyday and it helps build your immune system and helps with skin cells and has worked wonders for me and has cut down the outbreaks. I have also learnt I have a lot more in stressful situations, which I know you can't really control when you get stressed so it kind of just happens but everyone has different triggers.
Suppressive Therapy didn't work for me but the vitamins do. Find Vitamins that boost your immune system and also Lysine I swear by. Also when the sores are too much and painful Vaceline is another god send.
I hope this was helpful and believe me I feel you it sucks at times but we got each others backs here

The funny thing is I went to get it checked out and the PA said it wasn't an outbreak. She said it was a cyst. I said I get them all the time. She said start figuring out what I'm wearing. So maybe all this time I'm thinking it's an outbreak and it's not. I mean my first outbreak was 9 years ago Let me tell u I was so happy to hear her say that.
