Yes, I came out of surgery a paraplegic. When they clamped my aorta my spinal cord was starved for oxygen (blood). I think they call it ischmia. When I first came out of surgery, I could only wiggle my toes.
9 months later, I've had some return of my leg functions. Can peddle a bike machine, stand stiff legged in a walker. But I still can not stand up or walk. My legs can lift 75 lbs.
