Is anyone on Prednisone steroids and/or Biologic for RA or other disease while healing bones?

I am curious if any of you were on Prednisone and or a biologic like Orencia/Enbrel for RA (or other reason) when broke bones.  I broke both ankles and had a spiral fracture on one side and had surgery there, other side in boot.  I am wondering if my healing will take longer because of the meds I am on.  I am on 4mg prednisone a day and did take Orencia weekly injection but stopped it until I heal, my choice, haven't talked to RA doc yet but ankle surgeon said it could delay healing, wondering if anyone has any experience with this?

    I would think 4mg of prednisone wouldn't be nearly as severe as the higher doses, so you have that in your favor. (Did you mean 40mg?) I don't know about Orencia, taking it or not, during the process. I would definitely talk to you RA and see what they say. Best of luck to you!

      I did mean 4mg.....I found a medical article online that said even as low as 5mg can delay bone healing.  I was on 5mg (never higher), doc suggested start to wean off, I only got to 4mg then this happened, I know 4 is less than 5 but close, thought I would check with others.
