Is dilated pupils a side effect!? Help I'm kind of freaking out

Posted , 7 users are following.

I just started the Generic brand of Zoloft today I was okay until I noticed my dilated pupils which made me freak out! I began vomiting and shaking but I’m not sure if that was from the panic or the meds. I’ve calmed down since but googleing is not helping me because I keep reading horror stories which is making me more anxious. Has any one else experienced dilated pupils?

    Hi Victoria,

Totally normal. I had this when I started, my pupils looked like saucepans, like I was on drugs. I still do a bit in the hours just after taking my medication (I take mine at night before bed so only realy notice if I go to the toilet in the night) but less so than when I first started. You body is adapting to this new medication smile

I just began taking it yesterday 50mg I’m trying to be optimistic and positive but I keep thinking “what if” so my anxiety is a bit worse probably not from the meds but its almost like I’m waiting for something to happen.  Its hard to decipher if I’m making myself sick or if the meds are.

Yes I know what you mean. I looked at all the side effects which is not what you should do but then I knew what I was getting was from the meds. How you getting on? Xxx

Yep. I had dilated pupils and swollen eyelids and bulging eyeballs. These should eventually ease up. And I vomited, too. I also had acid reflux and yawn and belch a lot.

Stay ray strong but be gentle with yourself.

you are freaking out because the drugs have not calmed you down. It takes weeks for it to work. You are not having a reaction to the meds. Calm down.
