Is it an ulcer?

Approx 4 weeks ago I started getting heartburn, not thinking much about it I started taking antacids. However this then changed to servere indigestion which wouldn't go. I went to the doctor's who said that he thought it could be H Pylori so he took a stool sample, however the results were negitive. The symptoms got worse. I have chronic indigestion, trouble swallowing, A lump in my throat, belching, gurgling in my stomach and chest and a tight feeling just under my rib cage. I now have to have an Endoscopy and Barium X-Ray and am really worried. The pain won't go away even with the medication the doc has given me. Do you really think this could be an ulcer or something more serious??? Also what should I expect from these tests???

 .......i have had stomach pains and sore throat for 1 year now. After being refered to specialist i got barium meal, laparoscopy (camera down into stomach) i got told that valve in stomah was not working and i was getting really bad regurjitation. I tried all dfferent types of tablets but found that none of them worked. I was then advised ic ould have an operation called laparoscopic fundoplication. I was in hospital for 4 days after this and i am now 12 weeks after surgers and i have really bad heartburn and trapped wind and i have also lost a stone and a half on weight (which i could not afford to lose as i am thin anyway) i am having alot of bother eating and i am sooo down with this as i feel that it has all been a waste of time. Has anyone had this done and suffered same side effects after surgery? and will this heal...Help please

Hi, I found your post as I as researching after my own Nissan Fundoplication surgery. I had my op three weeks ago tomorrow and I am suffering with bad reflux although initially I felt my symptoms had gone. I am so so so upset ! I feel like I have been through this for nothing. I notice you posted this a year ago, so I was wondering if you could tell me how you are and what happened in the last year.

    Thanks so much.
