Is it anxiety?

Hi everyone.

I've recently started suffering again with my anxiety but the problem is I'm convinced it's something much more sinister. I don't know how to make this stop!!

I've been having heart palpitations and constant chest pain. I have also started getting these weird sensations at night - when I try to fall off I get this "woosh" feeling that wakes me up and i feel a bit spaced and shaky afterwards - what is this? I'm so scared

i dont have answers for why this happens but if it makes you feel a little better, i have anxiety and i too get these symptoms along with a lot more. I'm still trying to convince myself im not dying, feel just genuinely unwell everyday. Ive ready through a lot of forums and all points to anxiety. It's real and it's crippling!! Hang in there, your going to be okay!

    Hey mate,

Speaking from experience, this sounds like anxiety to me! I have anxiety and I defo get heart palpitations and chest pains - sometimes lots, and it goes on for a while, and sometimes I don't get them for ages. It can be pretty scary when you do have chest pains, and I've definitely freaked out!

I would say that if you're really worried about what you're feeling, it's worth going to your doctor and explaining your symptoms - they'll probably be able to run some tests for you and see how your body is doing, just in case. That could help put your mind at ease - even though it doesn't necessary make it go away, it helps just knowing you've had a check-up (I know it helped me)! When I get mine, I just try to keep in mind that IS anxiety and it WILL pass. Hope this helps, and it will get better!

    All the best

I'm sorry for what you're going through. There was a time when I was suffering from a bout of anxiety and for about 6 months my heart beat became completely irregular. Every beat was either a thud, and then it would miss two/three beats, and then it would flutter and so on so in. When the situation that was worsening my anxiety stopped, the heart issues slowly came to an end too. I also get chest pains when I'm anxious, as well as that wooshing feeling when I try to sleep sometimes
