Is it anxiety or heart related ?

So it's been a couple of weeks since I felt stressed (up to my neck ) but it's been 2-3 days that it escalated to actual physical pain! 2 days ago my pulse was sky rocketing and so was my blood pressure so I rushed to the ER because I thought I was having a heart attack. Before I went to the ER I had some mild chest and arm discomfort and a chocking feeling which I still have. The doctors at the ER did an EKG and they said it was perfectly normal and they told me it was just stress .My doctor gave me some beta-blockers to help with my pulse rate , but I can't get rid of the discomfort and the extreme anxiety feeling , please , what do you thing it is heart or stress related?

Hi there, I have been at the ER constantly thinking I have been having a heart attack. The doctors also do an ekg and they tell me it is perfectly normal also. I believe it could be anxiety related because the mind is a powerful thing. I constantly get chest discomfort, palpitations, neck aches and sharp pains down my left arm accompanied with overwhelming numbness in all my body. I start freaking out instantly and it then triggers a panic attack. What type of beta blockers are you on? Propranolol for example is especially effective for anxiety. The racing heart rate could be your anxiety. It most likely is if your heart tests came back normal. I hope this helps!

Thanks for the response, what you've said is describing exactly what I am going through and what I am feeling these days. Yeah I am on propanalol hydrochloride, and it is helping but at first I was not feeling better and the Dr. had to up my dose. I think sometimes though it drops my blood pressure too low and I get lightheaded especially when I look at something bright or when I am reading. Thanks for the response, again, it helps knowing that is not just me that is feeling like this becuase sometimes I tend to feel paranoid for feeling this way.

Yeah no worries. Anxiety is a hard thing. Have you ever considered trying relaxation methods like mindfulness? Focusing on your breathing really helps in a state of panic or anxiety. You will come through this!

Sorry that I didn't reply any sooner I have been feeling kind of weird the past few days , I have a feeling that something will happen to me ( and I am not scared it will be health related ) I just feel I will vanish or that I will just stop living ! I am scared but at the same time I am not and I feel paranoid. Any pointers if this is anxiety related or if I should really start worrying ?
