My GP is considering cfs as a diagnosis. I have other illnesses which cause fatigue but test results inprove but I continue to feel worse. Exhaustion beyond explaination. Muscle fatigue, discomfort and feeling of sprains. Feel almost detatched from my mind. Cannot manage school run without feeling like its a marathon. Struggling 😞😣

Is it possible that your other medical problems are the cause, and it's just taking a while for the improvements of treatment there to lead on to improvements in your overall fatigue? Sometimes illness can just wear your body down for a while.

CFS isn't really a diagnosis that explains anything, so it could be worth waiting a while and seeing if things do just improve? Or it could be you're in a situation where a diagnosis would be really helpful? Hope things do get better for you.

Hi. That was the original thought 2 years ago. Now GP is at a loss and considering cfs. He makes it sound like end of world. Family/friends find hard to understand how bad  I feel   I can see so many similarities in these replies. Thank you for your response.

Push your GP to refer you to Brakespear Medical, over 75% of patients they see have CFS.

Donna there is no test for me/CFS so it is just a guess after eliminating other diseases . I take it you have had thyroid tests and they all return normal.  But have you had blood tests for autoimmune antibodies ? Go to 'I  AM HASHIMOTO S A LETTER'  is this you? . Ask for specific tests for hashimoto if you think this could be your answer I am sorry if this turns out not to be but I suffered for years with this and if I had known about hashi I could have saved myself years of suffering and doctors shouting and telling me you are just depressed and eventually being" diagnosed" with CFS !!!!!!!!

I have hypothyroidism and within normal ranges, taking 200 mg levothyroxin. Theres no improvement. I have ferritin issues but none to explain symptoms. Its hard for others to understand unless they suffer too. Thats why  I began posting. Thanks for responding

hi, l can relate to your question, as lve not been diagnosed with cfs yet either, l do have diagnosed ic, ibs, and allergy problems, but these not being accounted as cause of the worsening fatigue, nausea and poor appetite over the last year or so. lve had routine and then more extensive blood tests, all ok, whilst l also continue to feel worse, fatigued and sleepy from getting up virtually, achy and off it as if ill.

Definetly relate to your last sentence,a bizarre feeling as if not with it, its like using will power and going onto auto pilot to do jobs that are essential to do when no one else to help, my increasingly shorter shopping trips  feels like an endurance, now down to drop off at supermarket and slow leaning on trolley routine, what would l  do without trolley to lean on, fall over,  a closed into myself feeling, embarressing also, hoping no one l know see,s me, but also am l invicible.

By the time l get home and shut the door, such relief to sit near fall down, then tea another essential, dog curling up and joint nap.  lve been referred to consultant, then  l go into gps tomorrow, reluctantly for another round, See what that achieves.  Going to have a look at Hashi item next. Hope you get diagnosis soon,

    best wishes.

Yes I am hypothyroid and take thyroxine but after years of suffering awful symptoms and no one believing how ill I felt and doctors poo pooing me for even suggesting there was more to my illness than just having an under active thyroid , I eventually found a doctor who agreed my thyroid needed looking at!!!  I was sent for an ultrasound , the results came back , thyroid very small inflamed and definitely a type of thyroiditis damaging it the final result hashimoto disease !!!!!!  There is no cure for this only treatment with , would you believe , thyroxine!!  The difficult thing is getting the correct dose of T 4 and  T3 or correct dose of natural thyroid hormone (armour) . I was so ill for so long iam certainly not 100% well now but the relief when the foggy brain lifted and I got my concentration back the muscle and joint pain lifted and the dreadful fatigue went ! I would  say look into hashimotos surely it is worth considering your life is worth more than just an existence
