Since last 2 years I always imagine "I m getting heart attack!!" My right hand always automatically go to the left side and touch my chest as it may save me from heart attack! Always I stay in panic.I do take long breath but situation is not improving. I feel mild pain of my left side of the chest and discomfort! I did ecg, eco, lipid profile tests several times but all those resulted good. I am a 33 years old married man. 80kg weight. I have been taking ranitidin since last 10 years due to acidity problem. I also has asthma and more often need to take sal butanol inhaler (but no nebulizer needed). Does anyone have problem like me? I would request to share your experiences /sugestions that might help me. Thanks.

If you are stressed and having chest pains, talk to your GP, Hopefully He can suggest tests to put your mind to rest.

Your Acidity problems may be causing heartburn, medications can be purchased for this in the chemist.

I have asthma also so you are not alone. Well, the left side is not the heart so dont worry. The heart is in the middle. You just have chest tension thats all.

The anxiety can mess with you if you let it. Treat it as it should and take the control over it.

    Hi amit

As you have had positive results from all the tests... I assume it is anxiety.. and if you have had the symptoms for over two years and your hearts still beating your gonn be ok.

You will have to change the habit of wworrying about a heart attack to be able to get past this.

Do some research on mindful meditation and positive affirmations and ak your GP for a referal for some CBT or similar aas this helps change your thought pattén and how you react to the physical symptoms of anxiety.

Saying all that if you get any chest pain that doesnt ease please seek medical help.

When in paid its important to control your breathing either by

Taking in a slow deep breath, hold it in until the count of ten and slowly breathe out

    Or

Keep a paper bag with you and breathe in and out of this as this stops you taking on too much oxygen, which would heighten the panic to a degree.

Hope this helps you, it did me

    Good luck x
