Is it just me?

Hello Ladies!

I am eight months post menopause and I have noticed that all of my peri menopause symptoms have reached an all time high since I no longer get periods. Also do any of you seem to have an intolerance to heat? I mean I know we get heat flashes and those are always the worst but I mean like an aversion to any heat. If it's above a certain temperature outside I feel overly hot and start to feel panicky and anxious. I can't even tolerate hot showers any more. I was baking desserts in my kitchen for a church function and I had to leave the kitchen and sit in an air conditioned room in my house to settle myself. I never used to have this before menopause. Anyone else get this?

    Hello,

Yes, I totally get this! I'm 2 weeks away from a full year without my period.

I live in Spain and summer has really kicked in, so it's boiling hot and I, just like you, seem to have developed an intolerance to heat of any kind, I also get panicky and it feels like something bad will happen to me.

I hate it!! I'm now counting the days until October comes with cooler weather, what a waste!

    Hello,

No you are not alone. I can 100 percent say things have gotten much worse for me post menopause. I had a small stretch where symptoms were not completely gone, but more manageable. Then out of the blue in December every symptom I started with in 2009 was back. I don't think it's ever going to end!

I can totally relate. At one point during my pre-menopause season I had a portion of months where I did not really notice any real bothersome symptoms that stood out. Around the eleventh or twelfth month right when it was hitting the one year mark of no periods, all my previous systems got exponentially worse; along with other new symptoms that decided to join the party.

    Hello There, Shar....

You are NOT alone! This, I guarantee. Per my previous posts, I am 7 years DEEP in the throes of post-menopause, and my symptoms have gotten worse! I am CONVINCED, this is thee WORST stage of ALL three menopausal stages! My anxiety is through the roof; heat makes me want to throw myself into a fridge, my hands are stiff and achy, my knees creak, I have SEVERE hunger pangs.. after eating a FULL meal, my eyes are dry, my shoulders hurt, I am moody, I am in a RAGE, I have a pain on the upper left part of my chest that comes and goes, negative mental occurrences always pay me a visit, etc... And on that note, be well, my menopausal sistah.

Wow! You just described everything I have been going through with exception that my legs also hurt too. I get severe migraines sometimes too. This is truly torture. 😦

      Hey Shar...

There are times, when my legs hurt too... Regarding you stating this is TORTURE, I concur heartedly!! It wreaks havoc on us womenfolk!! IDK, how are moms got through this TSUNAMI intact. Smh.

And the thing is, the women that were in my family when I was growing up didn't say a word about any of this crazy stuff. All I heard about were the heat flashes and the mood swings and the weepiness. This other stuff must have evolved over time and now we're the ones getting it.

      Hey Shar...

Back then, they called it THE CHANGE and nothing more! No one DARED to elaborate on this topic, they kept their feelings and symptoms to themselves! How sad is that? Well, I thank God for this forum, the internet, and my friends who OVERTLY talk about this TSUNAMI! We don't hold back! We talk about how it has changed our lives significantly, in the WORST way!! Looking to the future, we will be able to EDUCATE the women in our families who are younger than us, regarding menopause and HELP them get through this imminent TSUNAMI!!

Yes, I couldn't agree more. I wouldn't dare keep my daughter in the dark about this stuff. My mom is 92 now and doesn't really remember some of the symptoms she went through. I remember her going through it. My sisters and I are all post menopausal now and we talk about our symptoms but it was discovering this forum that helped me tremendously because I feared the worst when I first began having symptoms. This forum is a very resourceful place and there's always kind women who know and understand what we are going through.
