Is it linked??? Do I need a check up

Hi when I was born I was told I had 2 missing vertebraes on my lower spine which caused a slight curve and my hips aren't level. I had regular check ups up until I was 14 and I was discharged as there was no major change in the curve. I am now 24 and experience a lot of dull pain in my lower back on the right hand side, I have also had a lot of bladder problems for example unable to hold water and slight incontinence and not emptying the bladder fully. Does anyone think this could be linked as it's worrying me?? Thanks

    Hi Amy

i also have one hip slightly higher than other and makes leg longer. Even after having major spinal surgery my physio has picked up on this and this will cause lower back pain on the side as you are out of alignment so putting pressure on sacroiliac joint I think it's called. You should make an apt with gp and asked to be referred to physio to see what they can do to help. Hope this helps x

    Hi Amy

no I have severe degenerative disc disease and facet joint disease with arthritis in spine also. Have been fit and active all my life exercising 4-5 times a week but got really bad over last couple of years and I have just had a 2 level spinal fusion ame a third level stabilised with flex rod and screws so now have 3 rods and lots of screws in my back, I am 7 weeks post surgery and feel it has been a sucess but time will tell, still only early days at the moment.

Hope you get sorted, see your gp
