Is it LS or not? Someone help!

Hi everyone,
Really needing some help! Ive been googling my symptoms and it keeps coming up with LS. I went to the doctors recently and the doctor believed it to be anal fissure because I get drops of blood on toilet paper when passing bowel movements sometimes. When passing stool, I sometimes get small paper like cuts on my perineum afterwards that normally heal within 1-2 days max but the next bowel movement would tear it up again, same process over and over for the past 8 weeks. It doesnt hurt or anything to urinate and thats completely all normal. However the skin on my perineum is a little bit pink and looks quite thin. Only my perineum is affected (looking slightly pink) and no other parts of the vagina looks white or infected. It's not really painful besides when the cut is fresh but it somehow almost heals after a few hours sometimes. Can also be a little bit itchy but the itch goes away within a few minutes. Ive been applying some pawpaw ointment to it to keep the skin moisturised and that tends to help it heal faster. Someone please tell me what this could be! Is it LS? Or just the pressure of passing stool causing the tears?

Margo, lots of things could cause skin tears like you're mentioning. Lack of vitamin A or D. Do you take any vitamins? Could you be deficient? Have you tried Vit A and D cream? The perineum doesn't have to be a certain color. My dr told me mine was normal and it is pink. Red is not good. Do your fissures bleed? What do you see when you look at them in the mirror? Do you have any white spots on your arms or torso?

Hey,
Thanks for your response! I only take vitamin C tablets at the moment but will definitely purchase more. My perineum fissures havent been bleeding recently but they did when I first got them after bowel movements. However, my anal fissure did come back which is bleeding again after bowel movement. The perineum cuts just look like paper cuts but I have not been getting many recently. I went to the doctors 4 days ago and she is testing me for any fungal or sti first as she said since there is no itching or burning, LS may be unlikely though I am still pretty worried. She said my perineum did look a bit thin though, so just hoping for the best right now xx

Hhmn..."look a bit thin..." But, was it wrinkly or whitish? Fissures are the typical LS symptom. Did she give you any prescription or suggest a topical ointment? I would get some Vit A & D cream at the drug store. Have you tried an antibiotic cream?

The doctor was quite unsure so she referred me to a gyno for next week. I got a prescription moisturiser to use in the mean time and havent really got any tears for a week or so. Im not quite sure if fissures and paper like cuts are quite the same but I have only ever gotten paper cuts (a single or few at a time) that heal within a day or two.

Wonder what's in the prescription moisturizer? I know some friends who got those fissures around their mouths and took Vit B and C and they healed and didn't come back. What a pain to have to deal with but I'm right there with you.
