Is it ms?

Hi. Im 30 years old and I wonder whether it might be ms. In 2014, i had blurry vision. I remember a day I was really tired and stressed and I took a hot bath. Afterwards, everything got white,it was really scaring. I had this symptom for a while but as it went away i didnt pay much attention. In the summer of 2014, i suffered from pain at my mouth like a month or so. Visited 2 dentists, but no tooth problem. So one of them sent me to an ENT doctor who wondered whether it is trigeminal neuralgia. She gave me ibuprofen as she said it was probably TMJ syndrome. It really worked. In summer 2015 , I had burning sensation under my feet plus tingling;it drove me crazy. But it went away. The last couple of days while sleeping, my leg will usually move on its own and wake me up, i also feel some pain at my mouth-ear-face and a tingling at my head like sth is walking on it.Also,I woke up one night feeling itchy all over my body. Could it be ms? Does it give symptoms so slowly?

    Hi Elena,

I think it's difficult to tell but I suggest you better go to hospital and get it checked out. Best way to find out is to do MRI brain and your spinal cord. It's better to find out earlyier than later.

    Take care

Does they sound as ms symptoms? There is no such thing at our family and i fear that everything is at my head.

Hi Elena, while nobody here can categorically answer your question, it depends where you are in the world as to how you can progress. I do have MS, while symptoms you have don't sound like mine, the central nervous system is so complex, it can cause a huge array of different symptoms when it's suffered some damage. Wherever you are, keep an ongoing record of your experiences and questions, it'll be handy, if you see medics about this.

The site is used by English speakers from different countries, here in the UK, most of us can't simply go and have whatever medical tests we want, we have to wait until a Dr considers them appropriate.

Coincidentally, I'm the only member of my family, that I'm aware of, having MS.

    Hi Elena?

These are some classic symptoms of MS. Have you seen a Dr. about these symptoms? As MS can sometimes be difficult to diagnose I would suggest seeing a Neurologist, who specializes in MS, if possible.

Have you ever had an MRI on your brain?

I have MS and I sometime have the exact same problem, as you described, after taking a hot shower and this happening to my vision. It clears up a fter just a little while. Last year was the first year that I was unable to even go outdoors durng the summer heat. I live in S. Louisiana and of course we have high humidity, as well as he heat. My body now has problems hypothermoregulating [? spelling].

Have you or your Dr. discussed the possibility of MS?

Good luck! Feel free to ask any questions you want, about MS, or any symptoms, etc.

Thanks for your answer. No I havent visited any doctor mainly because the symptoms didnt last too long. I also suffer from pcos and hashimoto. Is ms autoimmune disease?

      Hi Elena

Yes MS is also an autoimmune disease. I also have an RA, that I've been battling 22+ years. It's also an auto immune disease.

Sorry to say, but normally is you have one autoimmune disease you will end up with another.

I belong to a couple online support groups.

Yes i know that about autoimmune. To be honest, I will wait a bit before visiting a doctor as I really feel I may overreact. The most solid symptom was my blurry vision and it was like 2 years ago. Shouldnt it reoccur?

Right now i am experiencing like a slight tingling mainly on my head. Like I get goose bumbs, but not as intense.

Hi Elena, just keep an ongoing record of any suspect symptoms, including dates they begin AND end, should you have reason to see your Dr about the symptoms, having the record can be handy. Be well and take care.

PS, I have both MS and Raynaud's, both are autoimmune conditions.

About the blurry vision, yes it should reoccur. I get the scalp tingling, also numbness in my face at times. It's almost like someone is tickling my scalp, or something is crawling on it. Like a bug. Lol

But honestly, as Wendy said keep an ongoing record. I journal a lot. It helps to keep track of the symptoms, to see if there is a pattern, also if you do see a Dr. you will be able to remember all your different symptoms and concerns.

It's better to know, than to wonder if you have MS, or something else. The worrying can be worse and also cause undue stress, which is not good.

Good luck and take care of yourself.

Weird sensations, that happen without an apparent cause are generally lumped together under the name: Paresthesia. They include tickling, burning, itching, tingling and the feeling that something is almost crawling, either on, or under your skin. Probably lots of other sensations, that haven't occurred to me. Restless leg syndrome is another common result of damage to the central nervous system. One of my more ridiculous symptoms is, on top of finding myself, suddenly, very desperate to pee, when I try to get to a toilet as quickly as I can, I sometimes get the sensation of cold water trickling down my legs. It's SERIOUSLY unnerving, to say the least.

MS, the gift that keeps on giving...
