Is it normal to be in so much pain?

Where do I even begin... My IBS problems are mainly bloating, loose stools and recently diarrhea.

This past Friday, I got diarrhea and afterwards my stomach felt super tight and bloated. It has been really bloated ever since. The only thing that works when I'm bloated is Silicea. I took one packed last night (Saturday) before bed and the pain intensified (I think it was due to my dinner though). I have been in SO MUCH PAIN today. I can't even decribe the pain I've been in. But it's like... That soreness in your muscles the day after you workout BUT IN MY INTESTINES KIND OF?! I know it's probably just a lot of trapped gas because it vanished for around an hour after my stomach was grumbling a lot. Then it came back after I drank some blueberry smoothie with probiotics. It's making me nauseous as well.

I don't know what to do. I have been doing stool tests like 3 months ago. I also eat gluten and dairy free, I eat probiotics. After the stool tests, my doctor just said "you have IBS". Well, tell me something I don't know.. So I'm not getting much help.

Is this really normal? I'm also having my period right now btw.

I have bought some herbs that are supposed to kill parasites because I have for a long time assumed I have either parasites or SIBO. I feel like that's my last resort.

female and ibs, horrendous combination. try heat to ease the pain and an anti inflammatory, that may stop the phone. colpermine or buscopan may help. stick to your probiotics. your poor thing, chocolate may help, well it"s an excuse for eating chocolate any old time. x

I've been using a heating pad like crazy. I love chocolate but unfortunately I think it would just make me more nauseous at this state 😕

It was a joke - there's always an excuse for eating chocolate, even the lacto free type!

oh sorry thought it would help any excuse for chocolate....

you need to do what's best for you. dark chocolate is good for you in small quantities, even my dietitian agreed with me, it lowers depressive symptoms, the liquid stuff in low in caffeine, much better than tea and coffee! so see it is good.

It could be what you are eating such as the blueberry smoothie and the probiotics since you had a flare up immediately afterwards.. You could be overloading your gut with so many potions. I wouldn't assume what other conditions you may have because the stool tests showed nothing. I think your doctor has helped you a lot by confirming you only have IBS which can be made worse by periods. My IBS used to be worse during my cycle. Your period could be aggravating your IBS. Having IBS and nothing else is reassuring. I would stick to anti spasmodics and immodium for diarrhoea only and exclude all supplements and herbs.Try a food diary or the Low Fodmap Diet to identify food triggers. What you are experiencing is normal for IBS.

It's weird though because the smoothie is supposed to be for gut health since they add probiotics in it...

      Thanks your your tips! 😃

Smoothies may not be good for you if you have any intolerance to lactose or dairy products and some people may not react well to probiotics. There is no one size fits all because everyone reacts differently.

Maybe the blueberries or probiotics disagreed with you. Some people don't react well to probiotics.

I have had IBS flare ups with severe pain where I didn't know where to put myself and I was on the point of vomiting with the pain. This is very normal for IBS but symptoms and severity do vary for everyone.

I'm so sorry, but it's good to hear that it's normal and not something that's seriously wrong.
