Is it normal to have panic attack symptoms that come and go throughout the day?

So today I just had a mild panic attack and my symptoms where racing heart beat, clammy hands and feet, numbness in left arm, left side of head, and my back and my upper abdomen. I also had twitchy fingers. Pain in left arm. Pressure in chest as if something were to be sitting on it making it hard for me to breathe right. And a weird tingly feeling in my face and chest. Pssh and that was just a mild mild panic attack smh. But anyway, those symptoms lasted about 30 mins and then they went away. Finally I felt a bit normal again. Its been 2 hours since I felt better, but now randomly my heart will start racing out of nowhere and it'll last for about five mins or less and at the same time feeling a pressure in my chest making it harder for me to breath. It's been happening about 4 times so far within an hour. Is this normal for the symptoms to come and go? It is this something else more serious? I'm freaking out. Like its just the symptoms that come and go. I don't get the whole panic attack you know what i mean?. I hope I'm not the only one.

You actually really sound like a caffiene person. Many little mini little anxiety attacks. Or asthmatic and your allergy or asthma meds are hyping you up.

Hey Lisa. Actually no I don't drink coffee at all. I'm one if those people that don't like coffee at all. And when I had my panic attack, this was before I even had my breakfast. In other words, I hadn't eaten anything today. I don't have asthma either. But I have been to the doctor many times and they keep telling me its just my anxiety. I'm actually going to a physiatrist now every week. But today the symptoms were just randomly coming and going. I forgot to mention I am also a but sick with the cold. Mild cough, sore throat, runny nose and some phlegm too. Maybe it could be that too making it worse. Wish my anxiety can just go all away at once

I'm on day five of a cold. I ended up with bronchitis and on antibiotics. And I did have a couple of anxiety attacks little ones while I was really sick. Had the works the chillds, sweats..ears..bad cold. So maybe we can write that off to the illness? Respiratory stuff mess with anxiety too. I didnt even use decingestants because they are bad for people with anxiety. I use holistic stuff. Herbs and natural hiney and such. I hope you feel better soon.

I can only speak for myself, but I experience similar symptoms and it has happened about every day. You are not alone. Try to embrace what you are feeling to a point of comfortability as crazy as that sounds. Remember, it's a moment. Its not forever. I hope you feel better soon!

My sister gets numbness in her face when having panic attack. You should see a dr. I had that pressure feeling on my chest and also the strange numbness on my head. It may be neurological or just a panic attack. I have an appointment to see some specialists to make sure it's not nerve damage. It would't hurt to get some tests done.

Hey Claire yea your right I should go to a neurologist. Actually my doctor referred me to one. I just havent made the appointment yet. But I sure will now. My doctor also told me that pressure feeling in my chest is normal to have meanwhile having an anxiety attack. Idk I just want all this to go away once and for all. 😟😢

Hi Diana, I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. I don't think seeing yet another doctor will help in the slightest.
You haven't believed all the others!
You need to somehow deal with the anxiety. You are being pushed round the entire hospital and the only diagnosis you get is Anxiety.
Surely ONE of these docs can get you some therapy, or refer you to someone whose specialty is health anxiety, for that's what you have.
The Neurologist will just tell you that you have anxiety and refer you to someone else........I've seen it happen over and over again in my nursing career.
You surely don't want to go to every doctor in the hospital!
Do you?
love Tess xxx
Don't think for a minute that a Neurologist will reassure you. They'll tell you it's anxiety, too. Time to face it and

Time to face it and learn mechanisms for coping with it.
