Is it normal to still have very swollen ankle and extreme pain 3 months later?

So I had achilles surgery 3 months ago. Debridement and fhl tendon transfer. My ankle is extremely swollen still to the point I can't wear trainers and still in severe pain too. Is this normal?

My Dr told me 6 months to 1 year of swelling. Also I fouund out today that my calf pain is a b lood clot.

I've had achilles surgery twice before but the swelling has never been as bad as this. Literally can't make out the bone on the outside of my ankle!

How long post-surgery are you? I've had a couple of friends who have had DVT's

Gosh I don't know what to tell you then on the swelling. How frustrating for you. I am 5 weeks post op.

I'm six months post op and still can't put the orthotics back in my trainers.  Shoe is too tight.
