Is it possible to have IBS and Gerd at the same time?

For months I've had what I think is Gerd. Lots of acid reflux, nausea, burping, pain/fullness inbetween bottom of ribs.. Bad burning in throat and chest.
Now a few times a every other week, I get this and stomach issues. I'll have mucus only and no stool, cramping feeling, bad constipation, nausea. A few times I had bright red blood which I assume is from the constipation. I'm miserable. I don't have insurance and can't go to the Dr. Please help. I'm only 21
Could it be GERD causing these? Or constipation? Or IBS? Or all of it at once??? Sometimes I can't even sleep.

What is your diet like?...perhaps you need to change it to a more bland diet such as fish , chicken, some red meat, non citrus fruit no fried or spicy food...veggies not too much sprouts cabbage or brocolli they can cause gas....caffeine free coffee and tea..try gluten free bread and use probiotic tabs from health shop and multi-vits...if you make these changes to your diet you will see a difference in your digestive system over time...best wishes...

Gerd and IBS go together. I have both and my brother was the same. If you are constipated, don't strain too hard because this can cause fissures and haemorrhoids. Use a stool softener instead. I would advise finding a way to get insurance because you need to see a doctor to diagnose you and investigate the blood.

Renee, you need to go to the emergency room at a hospital. They have to take you even if you don't have insurance. Give it a try, and see if you can get some help.
