Is it possible to suffer from acid rebound from 2 weeks of PPI?

As the above question states, is it possible to have acid rebound from 2 weeks of PPI? For the past 11 days I have been recouperating from PPI induced delayed stomach emptying and everything seems alright until this morning I woke up with mild-moderate heartburn. I have heard that acid rebound seems to peak at around 2 weeks but most of the people seems to be taking PPI for 4-8 weeks or even longer so the acid rebound is expected. But to people who took PPI for less than 4 weeks, is it possible to get the rebound?

I'm asking because one of my doctor told me to try not take them for longer than few days (yes he did actually said this) and that when the symptoms disappear to stop them and it usually tend to be few days for the symptoms to disappear for me. That seemed to have worked for me last time, but this time around I took them for 2 weeks just to make sure. And even my GP in UK only prescribed me 2 weeks of omezoprazole and told me to come back if the symptoms don't go away within 2 weeks.

So anyone who took PPI for less than 4 weeks, did you suffer from acid rebound?

    Hi cocamilla

I have been on theses tablets for almost 2 years and my Dr still prescribes them to me. Expecting a bit too much to be cured after just 2 weeks. Many people on this forum have been taking them for many years.

Yes I'm aware most people take tablets for at least 4-8 weeks but I was suffering from so much side effects from the PPI and my gp only prescribed me 2 weeks worth to start with. I really hate PPI and I hate to rely on them as I've learnt during my 2 weeks stint.

I was feeling better for the past 10 days off PPI before this morning I woke up with mild heartburn. I presumed because of my returning hunger and reversing delayed gastric emptying, the acid level is returning to normal and it's some sort rebound effect.
