Is it really ANXIETY that is ruining my life?!

Hey guys...after months of suffering...I am JUST NOW finding out that all my agony MIGHT be chalked up to the debilitating menace that is anxiety and his partner in crime D E P R E S S I O N. So, I have a lot of questions. Please share what you can relate to or have understanding about. I deeply thank you!

Before all my REALLY bad symptoms came about...I was feeling fatigued 24/7 and just overall a little glum. Things weren't terrible, but I just didn't have the UMPH! that ya want. I felt worn out constantly all day long. All the while struggling with LOTS of stress...after persistant stress and no answers from doctors even after multiple tests...I began to have even more debilitating symptoms. I was certain I had some sort of rare disease.Becasue this has manifested itself So physically. I never thought the source could be emotional and psychological. Plesae advise.

1. As I've posted before, I am so tired, brain FOGGED, and SUPER spaced out 24/7 with a miserable memory...literally my drive has vanished along with a chunk of my confidence. Can you relate?

2. I have never had a panic attack. THANK GOODNESS. But all this could still be anxiety? I rarely FEEL anxious...this is why I've never suspected anxiety.

3. I often forget what day it is..and other things of that nature. I feel as though the last few months have been a blurr...There is no solid boundary between days or months or seasons...they all just mush together into one glob of nonsensical foggy memories. And I forget things that happen throughout my day WAY more than I ever have before. I make silly mistakes. Can you relate?

4. I don't have bouts...it's ever-present. ALL the time. No relief. sure, when I'm with a friend and we are in a conversation...I'm not entirely focused on the fact that I am in zombie-mode...but it's just always there anyway. can you relate?

Im noticing people mention Fluoxetine. Anyway i have been prescribed it by my gp 20mg and i wondered what the side affects are like and how bad? I tool 50mg sertraline for 2 days and that was terrible for side affects i had to stop because i had a funny turn off it ie pale face, cold tingling all over my body, weak, pulse felt weak etc. It was horrible so now im nervous to try anything else.

Its worth it! U can't live like u are. My experience was 9days in a let so much better then you got nauseous, felt some depression, flu like at times but it only lasts a week and was no worse then what I felt already. I can now stop home alone without been scared, I will go out and do things although at times I'll feel funny still I'm very willing to go. Week 7 I'm not normal but I'm better in patches and feel that it will go where before life was a total blur x

Are u under 18? As I know SSRIs can affect younger people differently. I'm 29.

No im 26 but sertraline was my first experience of an anti-depressant so after waking up in the night to that funny turn im scared now to take the plunge and try something else. I did have severe nausea with sertraline to like my throat was tense and needed to gag a lot. My partner has been on fluoxtine before and he only experienced the common side affects ie nausea, dry mouth and on occasion feeling a bit disorientated but he never had any funny turns like i did from the sertraline. And ive never known anyone personally to have funny turns off fluoxetin. Maybe sertraline is a strong med im not sure but a lot of people say how horrible the side affects are. Sorry did you say after 9 days you started to get side affects or you started to feel better after 9 days of startin the med?x

My concentration was better and I'm gonout and about but I felt ill but these faded off. Wasn't anything compared to what I was going though. Best starting low, when I was on sertraline Dr gave me 50mg but I only took 25,,mg for first few days then 20mg to ease in and same with fluoxetine I started at 10mg then 20mg. When I tried sertraline for a second time I had a reaction to it but first time it suited me for years

Bare in mind we all have different brains. I was scared too and took my first pill in front of my dr because I didn't dare at home alone. Ul will most likely just get headaches, feel sick and a bit spaced out this will pass. I know your scared but also think how great it would be if u was better and enjoying life !!!

Hi. I don't know if this helps but I recently read that a build up of candida in the gut can cause all these symptoms. I've suffered anxiety and depression since I was 15. I'm now 43 and am having a terrible time. I've tried every therapy, different meds and my doctor recently switched me cold turkey straight from citalopram to sertraline. I'm struggling. So I've been researching diet and discovered that too much sugar, carbs and wheat can build up in your gut and cause lots of problems including anxiety and depression I'm now starting a candida cleanse and plan to change my terrible diet to a healthy one. I thnk deep down I've always known that my comfort eating was a problem. I'll post on here if it works. Good luck x
