Is it safe to take paracetamol to relieve pain from NASH?

I recently attended a gastro clinic and they think I have Non Alcoholic stephepatatis (right side pain and high ggt).  They plan to monitor but that's at the end of the year.   but I'm in pain so how do I relieve this safely?  Worried why my liver is inflamed.

Thank - I'll try but getting an appointment is next to impossible and history tells me they hedge their bets.

thanks for sharing what you take.  I'll raise with GP and see if they will prescribe something for days when it flares up. All best

I know that most doctors don't recommend any kind of pills or vitamins and certainly they like u to avoid all natural supplements because then it becomes hard to decipher if complications were do to the liver or a reaction from the different stuff u were taking. However, I've heard methadone is a good one because it lasts for up to 24hrs and has been around and researched since it was created in Germany by American scientists as an alternative to other pain meds because they couldn't get supplies in to the soldiers so many were suffering from pain and the methadone was created. The other bonus is that it doesn't have to pass thru the liver. The liquid form is taken and absorbed directly into the tissues. Now u will hear all kinds of opinions about methadone and most will b sooooo wrong!! I promise u that its not any worse then those ppl that r on morphine or vivid one or Percocet or oxycodone. Most will say u have to be an addict in order to get pain relief and they will act like they are much better then everyone else , but they would act like addicts if someone took away their meds that their dr prescribed them!! However, they are so use to taking the meds and never being without them, how do they know if they are addicted? I'll tell u how, they are the 1st ones to talk crap about everyone else!!! U don't need ppl that are like that giving u advice. But anyhow, the methadone serves many many purposes and one is short term pain relief. I don't suggest beng on any pain medicine for years and years. Now ur dr might say u shouldn't have pain but ask him the next time when he had a liver problems or pancreatic issues??? They wouldn't have the 1st clue and it's soooo annoying for someone to say " I know how u feel"!!! Yeah right and unless uve been through this personally Now there is a downside, if u need a liver transplant MOST won't give u one if ur on any pain meds... They say they would but from what I've found out, out of all the ppl on transplant list... Only 100 ppl actually have been tested and have had meds in their system and then placed on the list so I don't suggest being on anything when u want to b on a list ok my dearest....also don't start getting depressed. U will b feeling at least better shortly as soon as u find something to help u!!! Good luck friend

Thanks for taking the time to reply.  I'm going to go back to my GP and demand some form of pain relief and take sparingly.  It's possible I'll find something that works for me - especially as my liver seems to be functioning ok apart from GGT readings.

I find dr are so reluctant to give any kind of pain medication ,I have a back problem and over the years tried different pain meds. I now have a nerve stimulator fitted in my back ,it's great for my back pain, but some dr think it controls all pain.so wrong.

The best place to go for help with pain is the pain clinic but need To be referred by GP.
