Hi Terry, sorry you are having a rough time, and I can relate to so much of what you say. Although I must say that a few of the side effects have gone, I still feel mostly tired, flat and have headaches and no appetite at all. Some have suggested hanging in till 3 months, which seems like a hell of a long time to me. I really empathize, but that is what I have decided to do. Have you discussed another group of meds with your Dr? Sending love, I suspect this is as frustrating for you as it is for me. Lee x

Have you asked your doctor if you can take your meds at a different time of day. If I took cit. in the morning I was sick and dizzy all day. When with my doctor's suggestion I took it in the evening it did the job without those side effects. Hope you feel much better Terry.

    Hi Terry,

Listen, you are going through a very rough patch by the sound of it. We understand that the side effects will make you feel this med is no good like the rest (and I recently mentioned you may get slight paranoia too), this all combines to make it all doom and gloom.

As you know you have the support and (difficult as it is) just try believing that it will work, it will get better and take it from there!

I am on a lsight downer at the mo and have postponed  starting my reduction off Cita for the time being. I feel deflated (after a Family visit) down and nervous about friends visiting (any friends that is) for the first time since last November.

We may still cancel it, all depends how I am doing after lunch.

It ain't fun and it ain't easy, we individually all want to be better at least we have each other.

    Chin up Terry.

    Regards,

    David

Ps The weather's dull here too which does not help either.

David, sorry about the downer. That's life I suppose. I am glad you are being pragmatic in your decision to wean, especially if you aren't feeling up to it right now. Take care and I hope the weather clears soon. Lee.

    Hi Terry

These are side effects, and yes some people get them more severe than others.  I had some sever ones ie nausea, and some less ones.  However, it was pretty tough going.

These WILL wear off but you do have to give it so much time.  I suspect yours symptoms are lasting so long is because you've come off one type of medication and started another giving yourself withdrawl symptoms from one, and initial side effects of another.  And so it's continued whilst you've changed from one to another.

I would stay on these meds, persevere, ride it out and get through this.  8 weeks is early days still and your body needs time to adjust to the medication, which you haven't been doing.

It seriously is very tough initially on these meds and often people give up too early.  They work very, very slowly and often foxes people into thinking they aren't working.  They are.  It took my son just over 5 months for his meds to work and he went through absolute hell and couldn't work for 4 months.  He's now recovered and happy.

Persevere, trust in them, remind yourself they are working in the background and the side effects WILL ease in time ........ much time.
