Is it to much MTX?

I'm going to see my rhuemy in about 3 weeks and after a phone conversation with the rhuematology nurse i'm sure he's gonna up my mtx intake. Currently on 12.5mgs weekly. With my current pain i reckon he'l up it by 5mgs as yhis had been discussed before. Ive just started CBD oil today for pain. Seems ok but not a nice taste. Still having to take codeine as i think it takes a bit of time for the oil to get into your system. Cheers all

    Hello

I’m on 25mg a week of methotrexate. I have rheumatoid 3 years now. I was lowered to 20 mg for about a year but was put back up earlier this year to 25mg. My pain is so up and down. Could be crippled for a week solid then ok the next week. Just never know what’s going to happen. So frustrating. I hope the oil works for you.

Please let us know how effective the CBD oil is for you.  I imagine it will take some time for it to start to work but I don't really know for sure.    I hope it works for you

Hi, have you ever thought of trying Turmeric the 95% Curcumin sort, there's a lot positive views on it been anti inflammatory, pain relief etc, check it out online plenty of info, only issue seems if you are on blood thinning medication it may not be advisable.

Hi Gaz, I'd be interested to know how you get on with the cbd oil, strength, dose etc, I have tried it but it didn't do much for me but then I only had 2 sprays once a day, maybe wasn't enough and not for long enough. Like Martin I have found the turmeric excellent as an anti inflammatory. Have you seen the videos on YouTube called 'The sacred plant'? I found it very interesting, pity it's illegal to grow here as they were just liquidising the leaves with fruit, seemed a simple and more appetising method if you don't smoke, good luck and keep us posted.

Hi Gaz, I am on 20mg subcutaneous injection for nearly a year now. Injections have been far more effective for me than taking it orally, which was upsetting my stomach.

I had to overcome a very strong aversion to start giving myself injections, but it’s become routine and no hassle, and my symptoms have now gradually improved to a degree that I had not hoped were possible. Good luck.

I’m glad your curiousity about the Canabinol can now be satisfied. I expect we’ll all be interested in how you find it.

My rheumo wondered why I was getting no response, inflammation was not settling down, even though she put me up to 35mg of MTX, in the end she said it might be you are not taking it up via your stomach, it is a known issue, so changed me over to 35mg injectable, not preloaded needles, I load them myself, use diabetic type very fine needles as have a needle phobia, worked with local GP and his nurse to practice for a few weeks until I got past the worst of the phobia.
