Is muscle strain common?

Hi, I wondered if anyone had the same problems with muscle strains and pulls? My ankles always hurt, like I've strained the muscles around them. And then I will get feelings of having pulled muscles in other areas of my body, like neck, shoulder, arm. Is it the fasciculations causing the trouble? Or is it muscle weakness? It feels like various sports injuries, which is laughable considering my limited mobility!

I did not know there could be a connection between possible MS and muscle strains.  I have terrible neck pain - had this for months now - the back of my neck and shoulders is solid.  Tried massage - so painfull.  Tried tens machine - again so painful.  On my 4th change of pillow (expensive hobby) and still no good.  Then I tried Reflexology as an experiment and with nothing to lose.  Great, at last relief for days following treatment.  Also left shoulder is cold, stiff and with a deep pain within.  This is not permanent but occurs with I have an "attack".  My muscles all feel so weak and I feel I use my "bones" not muscles to get about.  Could be old age (61) or the possible MS that I have.  Still no positive diagnosis after six years although I have frequest appointments with the MS neurologists who refuse to refer me back to ordinary neurologists.

Oh I feel for you! I have neck stiffness and pain, too! It scares me when it creaks :-( I may try reflexology if it worked for you. I'm saving up for some one to one yoga sessions, just to see what my capabilities are (I don't want to show myself up in a class of young things! If the ms neutos won't refer you back they must be thinking along ms lines, surely?

hi i find this very interesting. I am 49 and awaiting a visit to a neurologist because my gp thinks i may have MS. my symptoms started in May this year. I had severe pain in my head for a few minutes followed by serious blurred vision, pins and needles, tingling all over and muscle spasms in my back legs arms. after reading about your muscle strains etc i have come to realise that i am the same. My legs and ankles are always sore as are my arms. I have constant neck pain and i have had back pain for the past 7 years. Up until recently it has been liveable with but it is now getting to be unbearable. I thought my gp was probably wrong but now i'm not so sure and can't wait to see the neurologist to find out one way or the other.

I have been having these same issues. I went the gammit of general doctor, neurologist and tests, nothing helped. So I decided on a new approach, I am doing a detox clense for the next 14 days to see if it is toxins in my system causing the problems. I will try to keep you posted.
