Is my lower abdo pain back related?

Hi all. I have had lower back on/off for a couple years. Had an MRI and I know it's s bulging disc on my lumbar spine. C3 I think. Anyway, for past couple months or so I've had pain again in my lower back., hip bone and lower groin area specifically top of of my right leg, to the right hand side of my pubic bone. It feels like a twisting pain. It's getting worse and I'm under investigation with s urology specialist as I also have microscopic blood in my urine. Just want to know if anyone else has experience with this?

Well it wouldn't be C3, that would be in your neck not your lower back. But working with a urologist sounds like you're on the right path. You might also want to see a specialist that is a urologist and gynecologist combined. Especially if your current urologist isn't able to find the problem. With the blood in your urine as a consideration has anyone put you on antibiotics? Because that blood is typically thought of as an infection and is usually treated with an antibiotic. All that being said it may have little to no effect on your pain because it might not have anything to do with your pain. Your pain may come from that or it might come from a disc in your back one may have nothing to do with the other in other words. But I would certainly want to get the Urology issue dealt with first and then look into the disk problem. There is physical therapy for Urology issues and that might be something that you want to consider eventually.

Thanks for that. I meant my L3. I had an MRI a couple of years ago that showed my L3 was bulging and was offered physio which did nothing really. I'm already having surgery to have my C5 disc replaced with a cage as I have nerve damage. I have degenerative bone disease. I'm with a urologist because my kidneys and bladder are clear from infections so antibiotics would be useless. Thanks for your comment, I thought I may be wasting urologists time. I've had an ultrasound and due to have a flexible cystoscopy in four weeks.

Wow that's a lot more info then you originally shared. Given what you've told me now I would say you're right antibiotics would be pointless. Having the cystoscope done would make perfect sense since it will give the Dr a chance to look inside to see what's going on. I still think it would be a wise idea to see one of those gynecologist that specialize in urology if this urologist is unable to find out what the problem is. Have you had an MRI done on your lower back? That would probably be important to do as well. Cuz it is quite possible that you've got more than one problem you're dealing with in that general area

I've not had a recent MRI done on my lower back but was going to ask my doctor to send me for one to see if my L3 has deteriorated further. I have an awful lot of pain on right hand side of my hip where the specific point of pain is near. I have a lot of pain walking about. I can do 3/4 mile before the abdo pain kicks in. It feels twisted/pulling pain? My bloods came back clear from docs. So I am feeling clueless and helpless just waiting for my next visit to the hospital.
