Is my penis looking normal? Questioning after scrotal ultrasound

Posted , 3 users are following.

I was having some trouble with a swollen feeling in my scrotum so after an exam my doctor sent me for an ultrasound. Turns out I do have a few issues (hydrocele, possibly a cyst/spermatocele and varicocele) and will be seeing a urologist but can't get an appointment for a while. I have been questioning the health of my penis since. I am either noticing things I didn't pay attention to before or feel like things changed but could be paranoia. Urination is fine as is ejaculation as of the last time I did it several days back. No pain at all. Questioning color mainly the darker part around the base of the head and veins in shaft. I am 41, white, single, not sexually active in a long time (have been tested for STDs when I was and no problem). If anyone can provide some information that would be wonderful. image

I hope you are right. Thanks for the information. I would have thought I had paid more attention before but perhaps not so.

Like the other guy said you may be seeing your penis for the first time. Men do not pay attention until something goes wrong. I had a very good doctor years ago that told me at 16 to pay attention to my penis and my scrotum which I have because we are the only ones that will see anything that goes wrong.

At 65 I check every 2 weeks after a bath. To me your penis looks fine. If you have no problem with going to the bathroom and erection and ejaculations are good your half way there

Now with your other problems you need them taking care off. With the Hydrocele you will need that drained. The doctor will take care of it and you will not have that problem again. With the other problem it is also fluid build up on the epididymis that can be removed. Also the varicocele is like a large vein. Do you have pain with that. They can block that if you want.

All 3 I think can be taking care of by the Urologist. That will be up to him.

Take care and don't give up. Your still a young man and you have a long life ahead of you. Enjoy yourself

    God bless...Ken

Ken, I've had a hydrocele before and it went away on it's own. I'm nursing that hoping for improvement. None of these things are causing any pain just a swelled feeling.

Jason no problem. I forgot to tell you I have the problem with the epididymis. It is sometimes 4 to 5 times larger and it does not hurt there my pain is in the contacting cord that goes up near the base of my penis. There are days when I double over in pain.

I have been keeping track of it since October. When I see my doctor we will take about surgery. He said that it would take 45 minutes. My Urologist said that he can strip the cord and I would not have no more pain.

Just keep a eye on yourself and and have some fun....Ken
