Is or has anyone suffered from thickened under eyelids?

I don't know if this is related to blepharitis as I have been told by one doctor i have blepharitis and then the next doctor told me that I do not. However, I have noticed my under eye area has become much worse and thickened. It kind of looks swollen and more baggy. Of course this is making it hard for me to socialise. It also looks oily. Does anyone know how to treat this?

Not under eyelid as much as the rim of the upper eyelid and somewhat the rim of the lower one.  I was told that the glands stop up to the point of not producing fluid, the permanently close up making the eyelid rim thick.  I have not been able to find any solution to that problem.  It makes my eyes look abnormal.  I hate it but know nothing about what to do.  Sorry.

I'm not a medically trained person but have you tried applying a warm heat to your closed eyes.  You can get eye pads which can be heated in a microwave.

Amother thing is to gently rub each closed eyelid from the nose outwards five times with the joint of your of your index finger.

Both medthods encourage the movement of the eye's lubricants.

I'm sorry if this is not helpful.

      Clivealive,

I think your recommendation will work. I am reading  entries on this site and every bit of info helps. Thank you.

I do these things with limited success.  The rims seem to be permanently thickened.  I think it is where my optometrist saw no problems even when I complained of symptoms.  I finally went to an opthamologist who diagnosed the problem in 30 seconds.  She has helped me and this site has been a tremendous help, but nothing has changed the thickened rims. I will try the honey.  I have never tried that.  I bought Mahuka honey, but have been leery of actually using it on my eyelids.  I guess it is time to give it a try.  Thank you to all who have replied and made suggestions.
