Is pain during pregnancy normal for someone with Endo?

Hi everyone.

I’ve been diagnosed with Endometriosis over a  few years ago. I always had doubts that I could ever get pregnant but fortunately I am 26 weeks pregnant now. I’m so happy but it has honestly been a difficult journey thus far. I’ve had bleeding on four occasions and had to take treatment to stop the bleeding and be in bed rest in order to prevent miscarrying. Now I’m constantly in pain, pain much similar to Endo pain. Feels like someone has taken a knife and constantly turning it in my pelvic area, while the pain emanates down my leg and knee. I had to be placed on light duties at work due to my complications by my doctor. The pain is getting worse, just wanted to know if anyone in this group has had similar experiences. It’s my first pregnancy and I’m truly very scared. I want for this baby to be safe and healthy and to be carried until full term. Any advice or even your experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm so happy for you with your oregnancy, Leann! As to those pains, i hope you've explained them clearly to your obstetrician. Anything like that warrants an immediate conversation with doc or at least the nurse, just to be on the safe side, and even if 100 women on this site say they experienced the same thing. We can't diagnose. The only way to deal with those fears is to discuss the pains & the fears with your OB.

Past that, I don't know anything except that you're in my prayers for healthy completion of pregnancy, birth, and good health for you & baby.

Thank you so much for your response. Yes I’ve discussed it with my OB and she said it could be due to scar tissues previously formed from Endo deposits and as the baby grows it will intensify the pain. Just been getting the pain non-stop now. I have my check up this Saturday coming with my ob so will update her and see what she says. Thank you so very much for your well wishes and advice.
