is seeking treatment after having a rash for 3 weeks bad?

i have a mild rash on the penis which i am guessing is balanitis. I have had it for 2 weeks and been using canesten(not worked so isn't thrush i think) i am seeing a doctor in a week. I was reading on health lines website how leaving balanitis can lead to scarring. is seeking treatment for balanitis within about 3 weeks classed as getting treatment early. Scarring is probably unlikely but every website just recommends getting treatment early on(but doesn't state what is classed as early)

Most health based web sites give generalised information - so in terms of what you have, it depends what caused it.
The general rule, to avoid long-term issues and unnecessary complications is to seek early treatment, that way the required treatment and solution to resolve it is found as early as possible.
So, in statistical terms using and antifungal like canesten will most often provide a solution.
Unfortunately, as I say, it depends what caused the issue in the first place.
For example, you do not say if you are sexually active, or whether you recently had unprotected sex.
A clear photo is often the best way to get the most useful advice .....

Hey thanks for the reply. i am 15 so not sexually active(still a virgin) and the rash/soreness started to come on after i went back to school after lock down about a month ago. I have good hygiene, and can easily pull back my foreskin. I think it might be something to do with sweat as i would be sweaty in my p.e clothes and get changed back into my school uniform( my school does not provide showers) and walk around for the rest of the school day in very sweaty underwear. I was looking and it might be something called jock itch i think. I am not comfortable giving a photo but have managed to get a doctors appointment first think Wednesday morning.

Okay, thanks for the further detail.
Here's a tip on dealing with pe sweat - take a fresh pair of underwear with you so when you put your uniform back on again you can change into the fresh underwear.
Update your Forum Post here after you have seen the doctor - make sure you pay close attention to how you use any medication and use it exactly as directed if you are given any ....

Does it burn ?
in my case i did go to the doctor after 2 months so probably you still have a chance .
You must make an appointenment as soon as possible it may develop a resistance like me , and now i think i have to test numerous combinations of treamatements. It will take long time to heal and maybe wont heal .

its mainly an itch with a little bit of burning/itching that comes and goes. looking through symptoms it doesn't really look like balanitis as i have good hygiene. got an appointment first thing tomorrow morning.
