Is somebody playing a joke on me?

So, I am 7 weeks post op my second hip this week. I have had problems with this hip since day one. I had previous nerve damage from cancer surgery and the surgeon had to lengthen my leg a great deal this time. He had warned me that I would probably have bad nerve pain after the surgery. Well, he was correct. I told him to amputate or sedate me the day after surgery. He didn't, lol! Anyways, at my 2 week appointment to have my stitches clipped I was still in a great deal of pain and he talked about a nerve block. We decided to wait, because nerves sometimes just need time to settle down. Well, I've been counting down the days until my 8 week appointment. I've wanted to call everyday and tell him I'm not improving and my pain is awful. Well, on Tuesday I got a call from the fracture clinic at the Hospital thinking it was just a reminder of my appointment next week. The guy on the phone said that my appointment was cancelled and was rebooked for January 5 of next year. I told him I needed to see the surgeon as I was having problems and he told me to call his office. So after we hung up, I tried to call the surgeons office. The line was busy for an hour. Finally when I got through, I told them my appointment was cancelled next week. She asked me why? I told her I didn't know and that I thought he must be away next week. She had no idea why it was cancelled and couldn't believe that my next appointment was in January. So, the only appointment she had was at 8:00am on the same day my appointment was. That doesn't sound too bad, but if you guys have ever heard of what traffic is like in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, you would understand. My normal drive is about 1 hour, I have no idea what time I will have to leave and sit in traffic to get there for 8:00. Oh yeah, did I mention that when I told her what time my original appointment was, she said no, you don't have an appointment then. My appointment time had already been taken. I just don't understand what happened. I am just annoyed by the entire situation. I can't believe the guy who called to cancel my appointment wouldn't let me keep it even after I told him I was having problems and have just had a hip replacement. Argh!!! Oh well. When I see my surgeon next week and let him know what has happened to me, some heads may spin. After being a patient in the health care system for so many years, I just wonder why certain people don't listen to, or should I say don't hear what patients are saying?

I now know just how lucky I was to have such a small amount of pain post-op.
Hope your situation improves quickly.
Best regards

he acknowledged that I had to have both hips done and did the right because it was slighly worse, but I've been waiting l.5 years for my left...when I call the receiptionist answer is no set date for surgery, don't call us we will call you!!!! What is that all about? I tried emailing her and asked to be put on a cancellation list, to which here reply was "everyone is on the cancellations list"...so here I wait, no better off than before my right hip was done because I'm in so much pain with the left I still am so limited as to what I can do I'm almost housebound??? I hear on this site some people talk about the interaction between themselves and their doctors, and oh how I envy them..
They say the squeeky wheel gets oiled first (or something like that), so just keep at them and don't let them treat you with disrespect.....
