Is the Heliotrope rash permanent?

My right eyelid developed a terrible itching that lasted about a week or two. They eyelid and under eye area turned a brown/purple color. This lasted a little longer than the itching. On Healthtap, the Dr said it sounded like dermatomyositis and that I should see my Dr soon. But, the itching and darkened skin have cleared up. I'm wondering if it will do any good to see the Dr, if he could tell anything without the rash being there or if it was something else altogether.
