Is the surgery with dura opening the last straw?

What comes after posterior fossa decompress with a dural opening if this oarricular surgery doesn’t provide the relief the patient was hoping for?

I had the surgery on May 8th, and I am still obviously very much in the recovery phase and I still have a couple months to go to get out of it.

However, I am always contemplating my next move and I hear of people having to get second or even third surgeries. Is that because they didn’t get the dura opened the first time? In other words, is the posterior fossa decompression with a dural opening the last thing that doctors can really do? Maybe cauterize the tonsils, but not sure what that does...

Another question is if CSF flow is restored or improved should that take the symptoms away? In other words, are symptoms directly linked to CSF flow blockage?

Have any of you had the surgery with the dural opened, and had CSF flow restored only to continue having problems?

Haha okay okay okay, I’ll chill out and concentrate on my recovery. My wife tells me this too, so I’ll stop being a nervous Nancy for now and I’ll just relax
