Is the the start of herpes?

There is one spot in the middle of my pubic hair that hurts/burns/itch. I have no idea the feeling but its one of those. Its weird. Feels like rug burn. There are currently no bumps and is not red. The last time I had sex was over a month ago, maybe 2. The feeling started over 24 hours ago. Could this be the start of a blister coming? I put cortisone cream on it and it didn't really help. Feeling kinda goes away if I take my mind off of it, but im freaking out. I have a blood test tomorrow to be kinda sure. Was just wonder what those with the virus think. Thank you.
