Is There a Doctor in The House ?

Only joking, but having just discovered this forum and read the large volume of posts on this subject, it does have the feel of a consultation with like-minded folk. Anyway I'm going to bore you now with my story/symptoms.

A 68yr old male, active, who has had mild heart symptoms for years. BP under control, as is Cholesterol, and also take Bisoprolol after minor heart attack 6 yrs ago. Have had short, 10-20 second bursts of arrhythmia sometimes after exertion, but that was it, until a couple of years ago when they started more regularly. Experienced a week or so of symptoms last year which lasted a few hours each day, but then stopped. Started again about 10 days ago and are pretty constant. My pulse takes on all manner of beats - quick, quick, slow, or 3 quicks and a slow, or a beat and a faint beat. Now, it's three beats and a pause ! Sometimes I just know they're happening, other times it feels like a 'pushing 'sensation on my left chest site when there's a beat [or sometimes every other beat]. If what I've described sounds familiar to anyone, please just say 'yes' - it will make me feel a lot better. I saw a cardiologist in A&E a week ago. He said my heart health was OK and they were ectopic beats. At the time - isn't just the case- my ticker was relatively normal, but he seemed quite confident that my ECG and his own 'listening' confirmed there wasn't any thing to be concerned. That's easy for him, as I find it mentally draining like many on here.

Anyway, if what I am experiencing sounds familiar, please just give me the nod. Thanks.

Its possible that you are not completely sensing the beats of the heart. Pulse rates are not completely accurate in sensing heart rate, as lung valves play a part in the strength of each heart beat.
