Is there a test to establish diverticulitis once and for all.

i was told i have this by a hospital doctor but am still unsure if it is that or something more sinister going on. I cant say I have bad pain but I do have a lot of nausea and discomfort with a feeling of being generally unwell nearly all the time and I would dearly love to be sure that this diagnosis is correct.

There's a number of things you should do with your Doctors. Blood tests, CT Scan, X-ray & Colonoscopy.

I went through all of those hoops to find my answers. There's really no way to be certain unless you do the proper testing. The sooner the better. Then you don't have to worry as much 😉

My general surgeon confirmed through a barium enema. My colonoscopy was a failure due to a rigid colon (which is a symptom of DV) and abdominal CT was inconclusive. The Barium enema will locate the exact location and how extensive the DV is.

I was told the same also. Then had a Scan and a colonoscopy which confirmed. Good luck
