Is there something wrong with my kidney(s)?

Sometimes I get bubbly/slighlty foamy urine. Not consistently, like I didn't notice it yesterday. But I noticed it once today where there's quite a bit of bubbles and a little foam that takes a minute to go (if I don't flush). I've noticed this on and off lately, in the last few months. I don't know if this is new to me or something I always had and never noticed. I know "persistently" foamy urine can be a sign of kidney problems so now I'm wondering if I need to see my doc.

Michael, although bubbling of urine can be caused by a problems with the kidneys, it can also simply be due to dehydration.  Try increasing your intake of liquid, especially water, to see if that makes a difference, but also worth checking it out with your GP at the same time.

It can be kidney related, but it can be something else. C.f. o drink water , check with your doctor if it keeps up.

Thanks for the replies. I notice it really only seems to happen when I haven't had much to drink and my urine is yellow. Hopefully it's just lack of water?? I am seeing my doctor to follow up something in a few weeks time, so I should mention this to him? I don't want him to think I'm nuts. I mentioned this to my wife and she looked at me funny.
