Is there still a chance to get hsv 2???

If I'm already infected with hsv 1, can I still get hsv 2 if the virus is already in my body?

    As Sydney said, type 1 and type 2 are two similar but different infections. Therefore, developing immunity against one type of herpes does not guarantee immunity against the other. However, it is possible that a person with labial herpes who is infected with genital herpes will have a milder infection.

    It is important to emphasize that type 1 herpes (labial herpes) can also infect the genital area through oral sex, and vice versa.
