Is there such a thing as "mild herpes"

I most likely have herpes, I had the first outbreak around 2006-ish.  The doctor says that's what it looked like, it was extremely painful, sore, with discharge etc.  The worst thing that has ever happened to my vagina to date lol, they took a test and it came back negative.  She said that was probably a false negative.  Long story I was incredibly depressed for years blah blah blah...Now I am totally over it, I realized most people have herpes anyways.

I've NEVER taken medication for it, I have had recurrent outbreaks...but they are so minor, nothing like the first one at all...they are like tiny little bumps and it goes away in a few days.  I actually thought I did not have it in the beginning, so I continued to have unprotected sex with my ex, I passed it to him.  Then from oral sex, I got it INSIDE my mouth, those TINY little bumps, now I have this permanent thing inside the bottom lip of my mouth, they are DARK tiny little bumps, and have never gone away, they are not even bumps actually, more like scars.  It's been there since that relationship 10 years ago.  My EX had the same tiny tiny little bumps on his penis.  I have also seen this same type of herpes on another guy who I quickly covered with a condom lol!!!

Does anyone else have this?  There is no "blister" or anything, just BUMPS, like, similar to whiteheads...I haven't gotten it in a while, I'm sure the ex hasn't either because he still talks to me lol.  I call it extra mild herpes lol!

Instead of going by symptoms that could be could be subjective at times. May i ask since it’s been 12 years since your initial potential exposure. Have you gotten recently tested for the herpes virus? If so, what was your test results?

Hi, no I have not.  Unfortunately there is no test except a blood test, and it is not covered under insurance, and I cannot afford that sad also, my doctor said the blood test does not indicate which herpes you would have, the oral or genital one.

if there are some new tests, I am curious.  Obviously it's been a while since I asked the doctor!

Well depending on your location I’m sure you’ll be able to find government run facilities or even planned parenthood that would be able to help you with the cost. And yes blood testing should be able to tell you which type of herpes you have accurately. Specially with the antibody test. Given your circumstance that if you believe you have herpes and you deal with mild outbreaks then I think enough time has definitely pass by to test accurately if you have herpes and which type.
