Is this a normal flare

I've had UC for almost 15 years, mostly in remission since diagnosis. Pregnancy seems to have triggered it and I've had flare ups on and off since my eldest was born almost 4 years ago. Prednisone usually clears it for me. This time I have all the normal symptoms of a flare but my calprotectin is well within the normal range. I've been tested for infection/cdiff and given the all clear.

I'm currently on 6 x 800g of mesalazine plus enema and they have started me on cortiment which I've been on for over a week now. The symptoms are as bad as they were when I started this treatment and I'm now drastically losing weight. This is the worst I've ever had it since I was initially diagnosed.

Any idea what might be going on? Is it definitely a UC flare?
