since October I have been getting sharp stabbing pains in 1 or the other ovary, I had a pelvic ultrasound last week and it came back normal,  has anyone else experienced this, I have never had ovulation pains before October last ur I am 44. Usually I get a stabbing pain followed by a dull ache for a few hours in either the left or right ovary, then first time it happened I was in agony all day long, but now they are not as severe, but I had ovary pain a week or s ago my period is due in the next week or s and tonight I have had the odd sharp stabbing pain in the region of my left ovary.

Hi julie. I used to get severe ovulation pains before I had a hysterectomy and oopherectomy. My gynaecologist said the pains could be worse than period pains for some women. It can be a sign of cysts on the overy but if you've had a scan then that's probably So in your case.

My period pains are more cramping very low down, but these are like stabbing pains that sometimes last for a few seconds one after the other or they turn into a dull ache, it's most frustrating not knowing exactly what it is.

    Hi Julie

i use to get a stabbing pain in the ovary .. Particulary on one side,..

I saw a doctor about it once as it was quite severe, and he told me it was ovulation pain, ' he said its good if you want to get pregnant' 😄

i often had it more one side than the other ..

Hi, yes!  Exactly the same.  Get stabbing pains mostly on the right side.  Always have suffered from General period pain, but more lately the stabbing.  Am 45 ☺️X

It could also be gas related. Gas can travel to the weirdest places in our bodies. Try taking a gas-x and see if that relieves it. I get left ovary pain when I ovulate. So I know how you feel. Mine doesn't feel like stabbing but more like it's very sore like it's been bruised.
