Is this a type of shock?

Hi all yet again

Since my assessment on Monday and my day of over thinking I now feel almost brain dead, numb, empty. Difficult to describe I can't think of anything much at all it's as if my whole life has been a dream, unreal. I can't talk to my Dr or councillor till next week. I haven't even started my new medication yet that's tonight for the first dose. It's all really weird is this normal or as normal as I'm going to get for now.

Thanks again everyone.

    Hi Tina,

I had these sort of feelings when I came of Citalopram after just one month on them. Felt like I was walking through someone else's dream for a few days. Very odd.  Hope you start to feel better soon.

I've been on cit for 22 weeks, didn't take it last night as I've got to start my venlafaxine tonight. I just feel so blank.

They are some serious tablets. I don't take anything anymore. Just control my anxiety with exercise and diet. Medication has far too many side effects for me.

I hope you start to feel better soon. Hang in there!

That's what I'm worried about, but taking medication is better than being dead I suppose... I do exercise but my diet isn't that brilliant. I just hope I get there as I'm tired. Thanks Carl

You will get there. Just takes time. Medication works for a lot of people but just isn't for me. I have always said if the side effects outweigh the benefits then there is no point in taking them.

    Morning Tina,

Looks like the more experienced ones are having a lie in this morn, but I thought I'd take a look in and say Hi!

I guess it could be a kind of shock as we don't really know until something happens how our whole self is going to cope, respond or react to it. As you find it difficult to write things down why not cut and paste your discussions that you have posted here? or let your GP/counsellor read through them with you? Obviously, you can keep control of this by allowing as much or as little as you like them to read and know! Just a thought.

Ok, so you start yer new med tonight, have you chatted on that forum re the ins and outs of Venl yet? I think I remember you mentioning something about it as like here , hopefully, they will help etc.

It is a beautiful sunny, calm Sunday morn here in Devon, which is a lovely change, I hope the weathers better up there with you. Have a nice walk with your friend and remember you know where we are if you need us, because, we all need each other to help us through.

Have a good one the best yer can!

      Thanks David

I ended up going back to sleep. I have taken notes with me but end up feeling too embarrassed or scared to share them.

Yes I have got information from the ven forum too.

It is stormy here today so waterproof s are necessary.

Enjoy your sunshine. Got to rush about now so I'm not too late.

      Hi David

Not long back home, good walk out in the rain, wind, hail and a tiny ray of sunshine. Excellent bacon rolls when we got back. My friend is such a positive person I really enjoy her company arranged a film evening end of March. Hope you had a good day. Work tomorrow!!

      Cheers Tina x
