Hi, are they really painful? Are they whiteheads like pimples?

not painful but irritating sometimes only hurts when touched and i would say similar to pimples

The best would be to have it swabbed but I don't think this is herpes. If they do pop like whiteheads, it might be a bad case if folliculitis. Maybe you have some kind of bacteria. Make sure to keep your skin clean with gentle soap. You can apply antiseptic on the pimples. Avoid shaving and minimize friction until resolves. You should change your razor or blade just to be sure.

i got swabbed and fluid from the bump was taken yesterday and the nurse said "yeah this looks like herpes" or a possibility of molluscum she prescribed be antivirals then said to wait for the test results to come back. she said since it had a similar appearance to former patients with herpes thats why she gave her judgement

it is very likely that more pathologies have occurred. an ongoing candidiasis is not excluded and as regards the bumps it could be an allergic skin reaction. in any case, don't limit yourself to the advice you can receive on this platform and go and get checked by your trusted doctor.
