Is this acid reflux

hello, i am a 32 year old female. About a week ago i started feeling a strange burning sensation occasionally in my throat. i do not have any chest pains or other symptoms but have noticed it mainly immediately after eating. does this sound like it could be a form of acid reflux? i havent changed my eating habits at all and have not started any new medications so am also wondering if it is normal for it to start up out of the blue having never experienced it before?

thank you

liz

It sounds like it could be. But only medical experts could confirm through tests.

I think you need to talk to your doctor first.

You could try changing your diet first before going to a doctor if you like, if you drink carbonated drinks cut those out also coffee. see if that helps after a week or 2

You say you haven't started any new medication, but have you been taking any medication for a while? Certain medications can affect you the longer you have been taking them. Things like antibiotics, ibuprofen, ssri antidepressants, metformin, anticoagulants, etc may not affect you straight away but could the longer you have been on them. It sounds like it could be reflux, things like hormones can affect this too. Do you notice it at certain times of the month? It is a good idea to make a period diary, you can get apps that you write when you get your period and when it stops in and they can predict when you are getting your next period and when you ovulate, these are the 2 times when you are most likely to gave symptoms. In your 30s you may notice little changes during your cycle that you may not of before. Like reflux, breast tenderness, chest pain, dry eyes, palpitations. It is good to keep a diary so you can see if certain symptoms are linked to your cycle or something else.
