Is this Carbon Monoxide Poisoning, What should I do?

Yesterday I slept with heater on at 74 F overnight. I woke up at 6 AM from mid sleep unusually and felt super thirsty, I opened my eyes and it felt like everything around me was circling, Just like a dizzy episode. I closed my eyes again, relaxed for a minute and opened eyes and felt lightheaded. I drank water, stopped the heater and went back again to bed. I noticed one of my nostril was totally jammed, one was open. I could breath normally. I slept until 9 AM and felt totally weird after waking up like never before. I was feeling totally lightheaded and felt that I could pass out in any moment from now. I went outside, took some fresh air and eased a bit.

I felt the whole day fuzzy headed and dehydrated. Although I drank Pedialyte and Gatorade to curb the feeling to drink. It helped a bit. I shifted to my other home today. Currently, after about 18 hours of turning off that heater. I am still feeling fuzzy headed, sometimes I feel like confusion, and urge to drink a lot of water.

Note that, I also didn't sleep well last few days before yesterday night. But I have never encountered such episode ever. I am totally confused and helpless, what should I do ?

Does this happened due to that Heater ? Carbon Monoxide poisoning ?

I am glad I came out of that home safely. But what are the next steps which I should take. My next appointment to GP is on Monday (After 48 hours from now). But, should I go to Urgent Care tomorrow on weekends ? How much time Carbon Monoxide will stay inside me & does this mean I am at risk of something If I don't take any actions right now?

Install a carbon monoxide alarm before you use that heater again.

    Hi Rudy,

it could be lack of sleep plus dehydration and even a virus you could have picked up with out your knowledge.

I woke up one morning many years ago feeling really dizzy and thought I was going to fall over or vomit because it felt so awful. I went to bed fine the night before. It turned out I had laberynthtitis which is a virus that affects the inner ear and your balance.

If you are very worried, which it sounds like you are, you could go to the emergency room and explain your concerns and symptoms.

My Insurance isn't good enough to cover ER Visit. That night I slept long, and when I woke up I felt much better although still felt a bit weak. On Sunday, I felt a big groggy although I keep sleeping 8 hours a night daily. But it felt better day by day. I am scared to go to that house where Heater is. I met GP today, we did CBC blood work and urine test. Both were normal.

My Blood Pressure was 100/70 , I don't know how good/bad is that. So, most likely reason seems to be that heater/ dehydration .

      Hi Rudy,

Glad to hear that things steadily improved.

I appreciate you don't want to visit the house with the heater and hope you don't have to but if you do, just open all the windows and maybe get an engineer to check heater.
