Is this dry eye?

hello all,

Long story short I've been suffering from undiagnosed eye aches/pain and headaches behind and around my eyes for the last 2 months. I've been to 3 ophthalmologists with no definitive answers and awaiting CT results for my head and sinuses. I dont have burning, redness, or the feeling of something in my eye so I cant really tell if dry eyes is the issue or something else. It is mostly my right eye that is bothersome and the one doctor did say my one right eye was dry but not the other. My symptoms feel to extreme to be just exclusively dry eye.

I have tried various drops so far with marginal relief at best. I cannot tell if putting drops in acts as a placebo for a short time or if it actually helps. Like I said I don't feel any of the tell tale signs of dry eye. Since the eye docs can't find anything im wondering if its as simple as dry eye

I'm wondering what you all feel when you experience dry eye? Do the symptoms vary person to person, to me it feels like my eye starts to ache and a mild headache accompanies it. What treatments work best? How many times can I use drops in a day? I'm desperate for some relief on this wild goose hunt, any help is appreciated!

Have you had your eyes tested by an optician? Could this be a simple case of needing corrective lenses? I wonder if you are staring a lot at a screen especially during this lockdown? Ophthalmologists and doctors in general are fairly lost when it comes to dry eye. If you can find a corneal specialist they are the most useful. Your dry eye sounds as though it is in the early days so start taking measures now to keep it at bay. If your screen use is more than one hour then you need to give yourself constant breaks.......walk away from the screen for at least 15 minutes and squeeze your eyelids together to stimulate the tiny glands in the lids which provide the essential oil for lubrication. If you have been given steroid drops, please stop them and use lubricating drops as much as you like during the day and last thing at night. This is becoming a world wide phenomenon with people using screens for work and play.

You should be able to buy a large range of drops, from your chemist/pharmacy. I will PM you as well.

Headaches in eyes come from looking at bright screens or TV that is not LCD. I do not think eye drop-s have a limit but obviously too much times a day is a bad thing to do. I think the bigger issue is the amount of light you are exposed to. Stress can also cause this issue.
