Is this from Acid Reflux? Help

Posted , 4 users are following.

So I've been having a lot of the normal symptoms of acid reflux like burping, heartburn, hiccups etc. However, recently I've been having a lot of tingling in my back and today my legs, hands and feet started to get tingly. It IS super cold outside but it's still happening inside. It's made me so tired and nauseous that I had to miss class.

Is this a symptom of Acid Reflux? I've been taking omeprazole so I was wondering if maybe it was a side effect of that...? I also thought it was maybe a pinched nerve since I play viola and have been straining my neck and back a lot.

Please help me out it's really scaring me cause I've read it's a symptom of diabetes and ms also.

Megan, this may be entirely down to spinal conditions especially, as you say, as you have been straining your neck and lower back.  I have had similar sensational outpourings.  I have had an mri on my cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine and the first and the third show some areas of considerable foraminal stenosis (i.e., where the nerve stands pass through the spine into the various areas of the rest of your body.)  I have learned through physiotherapy how to adapt my movements/posture in order to waylay the majority of sensations, and have learnt helpful tricks to employ when such arise.  It took months and months to figure this out.  It can play havoc with your ENTIRE system, I know, and you feel as if you, yourself, are not in control of your own body; that it has a mind of its own.  This may be more difficult with the viola, but I'm certain/hopeful that it is not impossible.  I would seek to get an mri of your spine and, armed with that in hand - your roadmap as t'were, get some physiotherapy (NOT chiropractor) assistance/guidance.  I hope this helps.  Believe me you are not alone ... and your reflux systems may well be an off-shot of these troubles.  I know mine were and they have - in the vast majority of cases - now passed.  I pray this might offer you some succour.

    Hi Megan,

Have you been checked for a hiatus hernia? A hiatus hernia can cause all your reflux symptoms and irritate your vagus nerve - I have got a hiatus hernia - and I do get some very weird sensations from time to time - especially when my hernia is playing up! I have have tingley feet, sore jaws, sore neck, pins and needles in my arms, and a very strange sensation where I woke up with pins and needles in my hands only! I don't worry so much anymore. You will only know if you have an endoscopy. I would see your doctor. I should add - it can give you dizzy spells from time to time too!

Ask to be checked for vitamin B 12, if this is low can cause tingling, just a thought.

Hi Google your RX name + symptoms or side effects. I had numbness in my hands and legs after 2 days of taking Pepcid AC. These were the first symptoms that showed up when Googled.
