Is this genital herpes?

I had unprotected sex a wekk and a half ago. The sex was very rough, i felt burning when peeing immediately after. around a week after I started my period and was wearing pads. I felt stinging like a nappy rash around my vagina, more on one labia than other. few days after sex i had UTI symptoms, cloudy urine and stinging when burning. I also had bladder pain shortly after peeing. three days ago I noticed red spots around my vagina and in the vaginal opening. They sting and did burn when i peed but this has since eased. Throughout this I have also been on amoxicilin for a chest infection. I do also have a white liquid discharge from the vagina too. Fear that this is most likely herpes, got antivirals from the doctor to start treatment asap in case it is, getting swabbed too. Could this be an extreme case of a yeast infection or BV?

If the antivirals worked to clear up those spots, then it is most likely herpes unfortunately. I have a question though, does the discharge have a smell ? Try soaking in a warm bath with epsom salt to ease some of the pain but you're in a healing stage right now.

the discharge has no smell, there is more of it again now. I can't tell if the antivirals completely helped, i'm still very itchy and the discharge has gotten worse in the last two days (the last two days of my antiviral course). could it be another outbreak starting? also, i'm not in any pain just itchy

something like this happened to me and when I was checked I was told it was a yeast infection and not herpes, I was surprised that yeast infections can get that painful. My advice is to get it checked just to be safe but its probably a really bad case of thrush . White, thick, odourless discharge is an indicator of a yeast infection and if its severe enough they can cause a lot of soreness like you're experiencing, You can buy over the counter yeast infection treatment from a pharmacy if the symptoms are causing too much discomfort while you wait to be seen because in some areas walk in centres are closed getting an appointment can take a while because of covid.

Thank you for your reply, I have just applied some thrush treatment on the outside as i am still so itchy. My concern is that the discharge isn't very thick but it is white and odourless. did you also experience sores when you had your case of thrush?

Yes I did it was so painful, mine also came on a week and a half after having unprotected sex and looked kind of like yours, a similar thing happened to a friend of mine. Try getting some fluconazole tablets as thrush cream alone isn't enough for bad cases. good luck i hope your sores clear up because i know they can be a nightmare.

Did you get tested for HSV or did they just judge by appearance? thank you for your help, if it doesn't clear in the next few days i will get some thrush tablets. Think it is too late to do a HSV swab now as I have no lesions, just the discharge and itching

They judged by appearance. I had my doubts about if it was truly just a yeast infection so i got it checked twice and both times I was told it wasn't herpes.

ahh that gives me a bit of hope, i did notice that the red spots in my first picture appeared in the area where the white discharge tends to pool which makes me think it may be yeast.
