thank you for the replies, is it normal to get blood streaked stools with this condtion? in the past the bleeding used to be severe due to sitting on the toilet for lengthy period of time, now that i have been being careful on how much time im

sitting down on the toilet for there has been less bleeding but it is still noticable. sometimes the bleeding stops for months/weeks at a time and then it starts happening again...

i am in my early 20s, i have been to my gp about this and after showing the pictures i was also told that it was hemerroids... however i haven't had any tests done..

does anyone else experience similar symptoms with regards to the bleeding?

    thanks in advance!

Hello Kan, I was diagnosed with internal hemorrhoids and have been experiencing bloody stools for around 2 months now. Mostly it looks like bloody streaks but sometimes seems to be coating the stool. I also have rectal fulness as if I need to have a bowel movement all the time. Do you experience that? Also are you doing any treatments for it? Hope it gets better soon, because dealing with these things sucks!

thats a internal hem! the fullness feeling is the enlarged hemorrhoid. get it banded, before it goes to a grade 3 or 4

It is very frustrating to deal with that fullness, making me so depressed. I will go back to my GP and ask to be send to a proctologist. I was just advised to eat more fiber by my GP, but I don't think that is going to cure the hemorrhoids at this point....

Thank you for your advice, I want to get this fixed before it gets worse like you said.

book yourself an electrotherapy treatment mate, best thing I ever did. It's not on NHS yet so you to pay for private treatment.

Best thing i ever i did absolutely hated banding it was super painful and didnt work for me. get them treated before they progress to grade 3's or 4's.

      Hi Matt.

is that the same as infrared coagulation ? I am in the USA and have found some places that are using infrared coagulation, using some type of a curent to shrink the hemorrhoids. I am interested in sclerotherapy as well.

      Hi Kan,

I did experience some grooved stools at some point. That was when my hemorrhoids were very swollen. Whole area around my anus looked like was going to explode. Now I am dealing with some blood and that awful fullness.

its different to infrared coagulation as they use a low dose electrical current to shrink the haemorrhoids rather than an intense beam of infrared light. I believe It's only available in the UK at the moment. see NICE guidance here: https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/IPG525

sclerotherapy could be an option but i can imagine it might be very painful after treatment as your having them injected.

Wish they had it here...I will soon ask my GP to refer me to a specialist for an exam and see what options they have. This is my first time ever dealing with hemorrhoids and it is been 2 months now. Blood on tp and sometimes stool and rectal fullness. I read online that they should go away on their own if you are having them for the first time, but not in my case. I suspect that not enough fiber might be my issue.

If you don't mind me asking how long you had them before you had enough and had the intervention?

Hi, thanks again for the replies.

i do not experience fullness, however i am quite concerned as my stools also appear to be indented/grooved... does anyone else get similar symptoms after a bowel movement?

    thanks in advance!
